Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi (Hanyangling) is relying on the mausoleum of Liu Qi,the Emperor Jing of West West Han Dynasty,the Han Yangling Museum has been built into a largescale tour core for probing cultures of Han Dynasty Situated 20 kilometers north og Xi'an,the museum covers an area of over 3000mu and is a key cultural relics protection unit of the county. As the fourth emperor with 17-years reign in Wset Han Dynasty,Emperor Jing,Liu Qi(188B.C.-141B.C.),advocated ”°thoughts of "Huangdi and Laozi",lightened corvee and taxes,reduced penalties,let people repuperate and multiply and reigned the country by letting things take their own courses,who along with his father,Emperor Wen,created the golden ages,"Reign of Emperor Wen and Jing"called by later people ,in the Chinese early feudal society.
The construction og the mausoleum began in 153 B.C.,and completed in 126 B.C.,a span of 28 years.Covering an area of 20km2,it is made up of tomb of emperor,tomb of empress,pits for those who were buried with the dead in south and north section,ritual construction,tombs for those who were buried with the dead,tombs for prisoners,Yangling Yi etc.It features plain topography and good
geomantic omen,with Jing River winding in its north and Wei River surging in its south.The conjunction of the two rivers near the east of the mausoleum forms the momentum of holding two dragons towards the east and the unique view of ”°entirely difference between Jing River and Wei River".The Han Yangling Museum is noted for its rich inheritance of Han cultures and landscape ecological sights,in which the mausoleum of emperor stands with that of the empresses shoulder.With features of grand momentim,numerous relics,and dense trees and flowers,it is the most pleasant place for imitating ancient and seeking quietness,entertainment and travel.

The outer store-pits are an important part of subordinates of the emperor's mausoleum.There are altogether 81 pits which truly portray the court life of the emperor.The hall boasts of a total display space of 8,000m2.It exhibits relics from 10 of the 81 pits.It is the first in China in being very close to the grave mound of the emperor's mausoleum and in keeping relics and tourists in two different temperature environments.It is also a totally-underground museum of ruins which uses the world most advanced video imaging technique to demonstrate the historical events.When tourists appreciate the relics at close range and from many angle colourful cuort life but also see how the world top relics are unearthed,repaired and exhibition.

The Archacological Exhibition Hall
The archaeological exhibition hall of the Mausoleum is a modern comprehensive museum with unique architectural style,exquisite decorations and advaced display means.It is a sinking structure and therefore best preserves the overall environmental look of the Mausoleum.In the 2,600m2 large hall are displayed over 1,800 articles of best relics unearthed in recent years.

Ruins of the Ancestral temple
The ruins of the ancestral temple(i.e.the ruins of the mausoleum temple) covers an area of 6,000m2. Shaped like the Chinese character"»Ų"it has double verandas.It is as beautiful and imposing as the etiquette structures in Chang'an City of the Han Dynasty in terms of regular shape and size.It is China's best preserved ruins of imperial mausoleum temples.

Simulate Excavation is a practice project which provides history enthusiasts and archaeological trainees with a chance of taking part in the real excavation of historical ruins,the explanation and demonstration of the archaeologists will tell the whole story of the excavation skills on the site.
