    Overview
Xi`an is considered the oldest of China`s ancient capitals. In China`s History, it was the city that had been a capital for the longest time,as well as the first metropolis whose population had surpassed the one million mark.
 
    Attrations
Banpo Museum is located in the eastern suburb of Xi`an, nine kilometers from the center of the city. It house the site of a 6,000-year-old village, which belongs to a Neolithic matriarchal clan community. The site was named ¡°Banpo¡± because it was unearthed near the present-day Banpo Village.

    Local Food
Fan`s Cured Meat in Pancakes is one of the traditional Shaanxi delicacies. In fact they are pancakes made of high-quality wheat flour stuffed with cured meat. The popular name among the local people is ¡° pancakes in cured meat .¡±Fan`s cured meat appeared in Xi`an a long time ago, and there is a story about it.

It is a well-known street in the style of ancient towns under the ancient city wall behind the Forest of Steles in Xian. Various crafts and arts are sold on this crowded street all year long. Historical relics, calligraphy, paintings, antiques, jewels, and folk art fine works are all tourist favorites.

As the largest transportation hub in northwest China, Xi'an has formed a network of high-level highways, railways, aviation and fiber stretching to all directions. There are many enterprises engaged in both domestic and international freight services with good quality and quick transportation.
 
    Travel Tip
For tourists, taxi might be the most convenient way to get around. Most taxi cars in xian are green in color with bright head lights, which are easy to recognize. The taxi fee info is like the following:
  • 6.00 or 8.00 for the first 2 kilometers based on different types of cars;
  • after the first 2 kilos, 1.50 or 2.4 per kilo based on different types of cars;
  • under certain circumstances like waiting in a traffic jam or for the lights to turn green, it is charged as 1 kilo per 5 minutes;
  • from 11.00 pm to 6.00 am, it is charged as 7.00 or 9.00 for the first 2 kilos based on different types of cars and after the first 2 kilos, 1.80 or 2.7 per kilo;
  • all the invoices should be printed according the actual distance instead of the former tickers with fix charges.

    Xian is located in the Yellow River Basin Guanzhong Plain Central, South according to the Qinling Mountains, north of Weihe River, belongs to the sub-temperate monsoon climate, four distinct seasons, a mild climate, the average temperature in 31 ¡æ. Climate characterized by relatively short spring and autumn, winter and summer clear, the winter (usually early January) minimum temperature close to 10 ¡æ, summer (mid-July) High up 43.4 ¡æ. Section will have dust in the spring, autumn rain more. You quarter is generally April to mid-May and mid-September at mid-November.
